Arguably one of the more fun parts of planning a trip is figuring out what new travel gear you get to buy. For some travelers, travel gear is like crack cocaine in its addictiveness – whether it’s a fancy new pack or the latest handheld calendar/GPS/mobile phone/mp3 player gadget (that also makes coffee for you), the list of travel gear you’ll be tempted to buy and bring with you on your trip is endless. But that doesn’t mean that all of the gear that’s available is right for you or even all it’s cracked up to be.
